Romans 5: 1 - 11 (NIV) - "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation."

John 3:16-17 (Amplified Bible) - "For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.

Written in Red
Lyrics by Gordon Jensen

In letters of crimson God wrote his love,
On a hillside so long, long ago.
For you and for me, Jesus died
And love’s greatest story was told.

I love you, I love you, that’s what Calvary said.
I love you, I love you, I love you, written in red.

Down through the ages, God wrote his love,
With the same hands that suffered and bled -
Giving all that he had to give.
A message so easily read.

I love you, I love you, that’s what Calvary said.
I love you, I love you, I love you – oo-oh!
Precious is the flow, that makes me white as snow
No other fount I know,
Nothing, nothing but the blood, the blood of Jesus.

I love you, I love you, that’s what Calvary said.
I love you, I love you, I love you, written in red.
