HE CALLS ME FRIEND

“Greater love hath no man that this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13 - KJ).

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (NIV)

"No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends." (Amplified Bible)

Friends are wonderful people to have. People have childhood friends, old college friends and even from that they talk to around the world. We have friends that leave us and we even gain friends in the most unlikeliest of situations. The one thing that amazes me is how our Lord calls us friend.

Jesus is our friend that sticks closer than a brother. How can someone be our King but also our friend? The one who laid down his life for us, the ultimate sacrifice, still takes time to listen to me as a friend. He cares about my ups and downs and is there to comfort me. He gets excited when good things happen to me and is also there to scold me when I do wrong. What have I ever done to deserve such a friend?

Friends come and go but one thing remains, Jesus is the best friend we will ever have.

Careforce Lifekeys

Lorraine & I started a 10 week program last week on "Search For Life." To understand what is involved I haave given a summary of the course. We are looking forward to a great time of discovery and learning during our time together.

Human beings are spectacular, puzzling, brilliant and broken.

Why do so many contradictions exist in our lives?

Everyone needs to understand the power of our internal cry for acceptance, value and belonging. Everyone needs to understand the cause of our most basic struggles and find a solution to them.

Without insight and answers to the human dilemma individuals resort to inadequate and destructive patterns of behaviour to address feelings of low self esteem, inadequacy, emptiness and insecurity. This program identifies the cause of so many human tensions and introduces participants to the healing power of truth in a caring and safe environment.

Sessions include:

1. Life in Conflict
2. Knowing Yourself by Creation
3. Knowing Yourself by the Fall
4. Set up for Addiction
5. Trying Hard to Measure Up
6. The Need to be Liked
7. Healing and Spiritual Warfare
8. Feeling Hopeless
9. Blaming and Punishing

10. The Power to do What’s Right

Something To Ponder

"Consumption is killing us. Go fast and Live."

- Mark Buchanan, "Your God Is Too Safe"

Life

The Scriptures offer threemetaphors that teach us about God's view of life:

1. Life is a TEST
2. Life is a TRUST
3. Life is a TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT.
